Lettering can be applied to almost any non-porous surface. Some popular surfaces to apply the lettering to are smooth and lightly textured walls, wood, tiles, glass, picture frames and mats, metal and much more.

Getting the look of hand painted lettering on your walls couldn’t be easier.
Step 1 Your vinyl may arrive rolled. Unroll your vinyl and let it sit for a few hours to flatten out. Using the squeegee provided, squeegee the entire surface of the lettering to be sure it is adhered. *Note: Be sure the surface where your lettering will be applied to is clean and free of dust. Step 2 Make a straight reference line where you would like your lettering to be applied. Step 3 Tape your lettering to the wall using one piece of painters tape at the top of each end. Using the reference line provided on your lettering measure each end making sure the measurements between your wall reference line and the lettering reference line are the same at each end to ensure you have hung it straight. Step 4 Place a piece of painters tape in down the middle of the sign and press it firmly. Remove tape pieces at top. Step 5 Beginning at one end peal top layer of lettering sheet away from backing. Letters will be adhered to the top layer of clear tape. Pull clear tape/lettering toward middle. Once you have reached the piece of tape in the middle cut away the paper backing. Step 6 Begin laying the tape sheet onto the wall beginning at the taped side. Slowly lay it down while using the squeegee to press it into the wall. Step 7 Repeat steps 5&6 with the other half of the lettering sheet. Remove painters tape. Step 8 Press lettering into the wall with squeegee. If the wall is textured use your fingers to press the lettering into the grooves of the texture. Step 9 Beginning at one corner slowly pull the top layer of clear tape away from the wall the lettering will stay on the wall. Sometimes (especially on more textured walls an surfaces) the lettering may have trouble sticking to the wall, simply lay that portion of the tape back down and go over it with the squeegee and your fingers and remove tape again. Step 10 Once the tape has been completely removed gently press the letters with your fingers to set them. ENJOY!

When you are ready to replace your lettering or simply want to remove it use a pair of tweezers to remove vinyl from the wall. If it is resistant you can lightly heat them with a hair dryer. If a sticky residue remains use an adhesive remover for painted walls( you can check with the paint dept. at your local paint/hardware store). Sometimes when lettering has been on darker painted walls for a long period of time sun fade may occur and the letters will leave a “ghosting effect”.
